WWE RAW 4/7/2014 - Is Evolution Finally Back?

On the April 7th episode of RAW, Triple H booked a championship match for himself as the main event of the episode and vowed to end Daniel Bryan's reign.

Batista and Randy Orton would later confront Triple H backstage regarding the match. The animal was still angry about his WrestleMania 30 main event becoming a triple threat without his consent. Orton on the other hand, wanted a rematch to take back the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that he believes is rightfully his.

Instead of giving these two another shot at the championship, Triple H told them that they need to let him handle the situation first by going through with the match and ending the Daniel Bryan problem once and for all. He even said that history shows them as being stronger when they are all on the same page, most definitely referring to their days in the group known as "Evolution."

Right before the main event started, Batista and Orton came out to give Bryan a beating. It was surprising to see these two getting along after all their bickering over the past few months. They actually worked together in the triple threat match at WrestleMania 30 to heavily injure Bryan and take him out of the equation so that they can focus on their original singles match against each other. They really do believe that Bryan is the source of all their problems.

Corporate Kane then arrived to the scene and chokeslammed Bryan. Triple H then made his entrance and took his time before trying to get the referee to ring the bell and start the match. Suddenly, the Shield showed up to interrupt and get their revenge on Hunter for ordering their beatdown on SmackDown some time prior to WrestleMania. They attacked Triple H, Batista, and Randy Orton. Daniel Bryan then performed the running knee on Triple H.

The bad guys retreated and it looked as though Evolution had reformed...with Kane as Ric Flair's replacement. Now that they are on the same page and the Shield is looking to rid of the injustice of the Authority, it would make sense for WWE to cash in on a potential big feud such as Shield vs Evolution. Ric Flair recently showed up for other segments, but it's unknown whether he will play a part in this. Either way, is Evolution really back?

It's been such a long time since Batista sided with Orton. Seeing them with Triple H on the January 20th, the night of Batista's return on RAW, was so nostalgic. It was only a matter of time before they put aside their issues in favor of the return of Evolution. Whether or not they use the same name or a new one for their group, I don't really mind. The best part of it would be seeing them work together again.
