WWE RAW: Ryback Attacks Zack Ryder - Review 5/20/2013

After Zack Ryder's match against Cody Rhodes on the May 20th episode of WWE RAW, Ryback attacked Zack and put him in an ambulance car.

I think that it's ineffective to use him as an example for Ryback to send a message to John Cena. Ryder was already used in the Cena/Kane feud before and it was much more relevant back then because Ryder was Cena's friend in that storyline.

Instead, Ryback should have attacked one of Cena's family members such as his father, brother, or cousins. It doesn't even have to be his real family member. WWE can just hire an actor to pretend to be one. If not, then there should have been a good friend of Cena that gets attacked. But in this case, there is no one in the current storyline to be that friend. The writers should've made it similar to Batista's feud with Triple H back in 2005 in which Jim Ross was Batista's friend and Triple H attacked him. Making the feud personal will make the story more meaningful.

I remember Edge and Lita visiting Cena's father and then Edge slapped him. This led to an angry Cena on an episode of RAW beating the hell out of Edge from inside the building all the way backstage and outside. Cena eventually threw Edge into the sea! This is probably too violent for the PG era, but it is still possible if performed at the level of the Swagger/Mysterio brawl in 2010. That also resulted in someone getting thrown into the water. Rey Mysterio threw Swagger in.
